Back to School Fair

In August 2017, CANHelp kicked off its Inaugural Hopkins County Back to School Fair to replace our Pack the Bus School Supplies Drive which had been held for over 10 years. The fair brings community organizations, churches, and businesses all together in one place to help prepare the children of Hopkins County and their families for the start of school.  This FREE Back to School Fair offers back packs and school supplies, haircuts, immunizations, dental screenings, games, community resources and so much more.  Planning begins for this event several months in advance.  If you would like to volunteer for this event or have a booth, please let us know!

Thrift Store

As our charity thrift store continues to grow, the need for volunteers grows as well. If you are seeking somewhere to help the community or needing to complete community service hours, consider volunteering in our Thrift Store. Also, if you would like to donate to our thrift store, we need and appreciate donations of everything that you would find in a home.  However, we currently do not accept mattresses.  We ask that all donations be clean, in GOOD condition and ready to be used.

Blue Santa Toy Program

Each Year, CANHelp works with Hopkins County Law Enforcement and Project Empty Stocking, to provide toys to over 1000 Hopkins County Children and families in need at Christmas.  While Hopkins County law enforcement collects the toys and Project Empty Stocking packs the toys for pickup by the families, CANHelp acts as the clearinghouse for the program accepting and screening applications.  If you or a family you know needs help at Christmas, the program starts each year in November.  If you would like to volunteer to help at any stage of the toy program, please let CANHelp know.

Basic Needs Donations

Throughout the year, CANHelp accepts donations of hygiene products, diapers (infant and adult), formula, and other basic needs supplies to help those less fortunate in our communities. If your business, organization, or church would like to hold a fundraiser for these supplies, please let CANHelp know.

The Fall Coat & Blanket Drive

Beginning in October of each year, CANHelp hosts a coat and blanket drive in partnership with local churches and business. All gently used or new coats and blankets collected ensure Hopkins County residents stay warm each winter. If your business, school, civic organization, or church would like to participate in this fundraiser with us, please let us know!
